Anyone want to work on an interactive fighter fight stat webpage?

I am thinking of a side view binary tree type look.

               ----
              |win |
             /|    |
----       /  ----
     | --/
     |
----          ----
             |lose|
              |    |
               ----

The tree should be dynamically clickable, allowing you to progress through a fighter's career. You would be allowed to deviate from the initial fighter and follow someone else the fighter has fought.

There would be iconography (a picture of the fighter, maybe the event). It should be url linked to wikipedia (or a better source) to get further fight events or fighter details.

The project would use perl, html, javascript, css and whatever else. Right now, I'm doing no server stuff but an SQL database could be used with java in the future. Could also use xml to hold fighter stats.

I am grabbing the fighter's data from wikipedia with a perl script and using dirty regular expressions to extract fight data and urls. That is not easy as wikipedia's pages are different. So I am making the code more robust. Right now, I enter a fighter's name or wikipedia url and it spits back each fight's details (if the page conforms).

I will then have a perl script write the html page(s). Everything would be in html tables and I would like to use html5 canvas drawing if appropriate. I'm thinking there will be a lot of <div> with .innerhtml javascript ugliness (but I'm comfortable). Nodes (as tables) could be created dynamically and explode from left to right (or down).

If anyone is interested please respond or pm me. The project is simple now, everything can be broken into parts and complexity is secondary. I would also definitely appreciate any ideas. Currently, I am not sure how it should look. Theoretical and cosmetic design have always been my biggest time wasters.

Here is a link to the above fighter career visual progress webpage.

The html canvas stuff (which draws the lines) appears to scale itself when the area size is changed, so it's statically drawn.
